Info

The piece Espiral (Spiral) has as motivating stimulus the idea of a cycle. This idea is represented in the proportions of the durations and in the succession and reiteration of textures. The spiral represents a path with a path above the footprints. However, this return through the same path always brings different sensations to each occurrence.

The work was written for the Group of Musical Interpreters of Bahia (GIMBA) and premiered by the same group, formed by Lucas Robatto (flute), Pedro Robatto (clarinet), Heinz Schwebel (trumpet), Alexandre Casado (violin), Suzana Kato (cello), and with the special participation of Eduardo Torres (piano). The premiere took place at the rectory of UFBA, Salvador, on December 3, 2009, in a concert-workshop held during the Encounter of Composers of the XXI International Music Seminars of UFBA.
